The Author

Raul Mendez

Father. Engineer. Storyteller.

He is a father, an engineer, and a guy who stays up too late writing about teenagers with impossible powers. Born in Ukraine, raised with Cuban and American roots, now writing from Florida.

The love of immersive stories started early, but it took root inside the worlds of MMORPGs. The first time he got lost in one and realized he cared more about the lore on the walls than the loot in the chest, the writer was already there. He just had not started writing yet.

He writes across genres and age categories. New series come from whichever world is the loudest at the keyboard, not from a fixed lane.

The Life

He lives with his wife Nathaly, who sat beside him through every draft, their two kids, and a dog named Luna who is convinced she runs the household and is probably right.

He writes in the margins of a full life, between engineering work and soccer games and bedtime stories, because the worlds in his head won’t stay quiet and the people in them deserve to be heard.

The Fan

Before he wrote any of it, he was the reader. The kid lost in fantasy paperbacks, the teenager grinding levels in his first MMORPG, the adult who never stopped logging back in.

The books he writes are for the version of him who used to disappear into worlds like that, plus the version of him who still does.
